Aurora police released new information today in a March 12 rape at a massage parlor: The rapist pretended to be a police officer to intimidate his victim.

“Immediately after the assault, the suspect ‘flashed’ a badge to the victim and told her not to bother calling the police because he was an officer,” the agency stated this afternoon.

And it might not be the man’s first time to pull the ploy, but the suspected victim in the earlier case is reluctant to cooperate with authorities, Aurora police stated..

The Aurora Police Department added $5,000 to the $2,000 reward offered by Crime Stoppers.

Police earlier said the man returned to the business, which has not been named, and asked for a second massage that day.

During the massage, the man demanded that the woman perform a sex act, and when she refused he raped her, police said.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, Aurora Police Sgt. Rudy Herrera at 303-739-6250 or Detective Steve Crowe at 303-739-6153.
