A woman who stripped naked after being ordered to put her cigarette out at Denver International Airport Tuesday won’t face charges, Denver police said today.

The passenger was taken into custody on Concourse B and then taken to an unspecified hospital for psychiatric and other medical evaluations, authorities said.

“That was a medical issue,” Detective John White, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department. “She was turned over to paramedics; it’s not a police matter.”

No information has been released, including her name, age and flight destination, because of medical privacy laws.

Airport spokeswoman Jenny Schiavone did not return a telephone call for comment this afternoon.
