Jazz Aspen Snowmass long ago shed the explicit “jazz” requirements for its big-name artists, which span rock, folk, roots and even, occasionally, jazz. So it’s not shocking (though still amusing) to see the fest announce such crossover pop and country names as Kid Rock and Sugarland for its annual Labor Day event. Those acts join the Steve Miller Band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and more to be announced for the Aug. 31-Sept. 2 event. Three-day passes are on sale. ($175-$570, )

Jack White has all the momentum in the world with a recent, searing “Saturday Night Live” performance and lots of quirky publicity stunts surrounding the release of his “Blunderbuss” solo album. Who needs the White Stripes, anyway? White plays Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Aug. 8, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. today ($39.95-$44.95). Also announced for Red Rocks this week: DJ and producer AVICII (June 26, $39.50), Sublime With Rome and Pepper (Aug. 12, $36.50-$39.95), and Train and Mat Kearney (Sept. 19, $45-$55). All shows are available via Ticketmaster.

Linkin Park and Incubus are united more by the eras in which they gained famed than their sound, though both peddle an aggressive alt-metal that seems unwilling to fade into the previous decade. Tickets for the bands’ Aug. 30 tour stop at Comfort Dental Amphitheatre, with MuteMath, are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($30.50-$100.50, )

Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw both appeal to what could be loosely classified as the CW crowd — and not just because DeGraw’s “I Don’t Want to Be” is the “One Tree Hill” theme song. Their slick, melodic songs are firmly rooted in the pop traditions even as they invoke singer-songwriter personas, so it makes sense to see them as a touring package. Tickets for their Aug. 7 co-headlining concert at the Fillmore are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($34.50, )

Andrew Bird’s literate, complex chamber-pop does well in quiet settings, and the critically acclaimed indie songwriter will no doubt flourish in the seated Buell Theatre at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Tickets for the Aug. 17 show are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($29.95-$44.95, Ticketmaster)

The Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is celebrating its 19th year with Phil Lesh & Friends, Gov’t Mule, the B-52s, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, MarchFourth Marching Band, Tab Benoit and more to be announced. Three-day passes for the Sept. 14-16 event are on sale, with single tickets available June 15. ($170, )
