A Boulder police officer is being held on $100,000 bond in a domestic violence case out of Broomfield.
Christian Dale McCracken, 32, of Frederick is facing a felony charge of stalking and a misdemeanor count of harassment from an unspecified incident that happened Friday in the 3400 block of Molly Circlein Broomfield.
McCracken was arrested Saturday.
Broomfield police would not comment further about the incident, citing an ongoing investigation.
Boulder police Chief Mark Beckner would not comment on the allegations against McCracken, when contacted by the Boulder Daily Camera today.
He said McCraken is on suspension and an internal investigation takes place when an officer is charged criminally. Discipline handed down by the department is not dependent on a criminal conviction, Beckner said.
The Camera reported that McCracken was hospitalized with a head injury in August after he was hit by a 23-year-old man who refused to pay his $3 tab or leave The Sink bar in Boulder.
Treven Hunter, 23, later pleaded guilty to third-degree assault on a peace officer and faces a mandatory prison sentence of two to four years when is is sentenced Thursday, the same day McCracken is due in court.
