GREELEY, Colo.—Greeley police say a man who got mad after a bank employee warned him he was the apparent victim of a lottery scam could be cited with a misdemeanor.

The Greeley Tribune reports ( ) David Lee Walker went to a bank in the Westlake Village shopping center Tuesday seeking a loan. He said he had won a lottery but needed to send money to the lottery’s operators to secure his winnings. Police Sgt. Susan West says Walker said he had sent more than $80,000 already.

West says that after a banker explained that someone was scamming Walker, he allegedly yelled, closed the door of the banker’s office and told the banker she wasn’t going anywhere.

West says Walker could be cited with a charge of false imprisonment.
