A driver who died Sunday night after a crash on Interstate 70 near Palisade has been identified as a 21-year-old from Meeker.
Jonathan Mix was ejected from his 2002 Toyota Camry after he ., said Sgt. Mike Baker, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
Mix was not wearing a seat belt, and authorities suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, Baker said.
A passenger in his vehicle, Anthony Merritt, 21, of Parachute, was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt, Baker said.
The driver of a 1999 Nissan Altima that was also involved in the crash was not hurt. He was identified as Nevin Carlson, 20, of Fort Collins.
