Law enforcement has arrested a 20-year-old volunteer track coach at Eagle Valley High School who is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old student.
The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the allegation against Omar Saucedo of Gypsum on May 8.
An arrest warrant was issued Thursday and he was arrested today and booked into the Eagle County Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond. His first court appearance is May 21.
“The sexual encounter between Saucedo and the student did not occur on school property,” the Sheriff’s Department stated. “Eagle Valley High School and the Eagle County School District were very cooperative though out the investigation.”
