Two women were fighting outside their car around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday when one allegedly turned her anger toward police.
Colorado Springs police say they saw two women arguing outside a car in the 1100 block of South Union, near Fountain Boulevard. An officer intervened, asking them to separate to break up the fight. That’s when 19-year-old Audra Maldonado allegedly slapped the officer in the face.
She was arrested and taken to a police substation where police say she continued to be uncooperative, kicking an officer in the leg.
Maldonado was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault on a peace officer and underage drinking.
