FRANKFORT, Ky.—Gov. Steve Beshear says a new call center planned in western Kentucky will create between 500 and 700 new jobs in the area over the next few years.

In a statement on Thursday morning, Beshear said TeleTech Services Corp. plans to invest more than $12 million to open the customer service center in Hopkinsville. The 45,000-square-foot center is expected to open and begin operations in the fall.

Beshear says the announcement is “outstanding news” for the city.

The statement said Colorado-based TeleTech has more than 41,000 employees at customer service centers around the world.
