A man was pistol-whipped,pulled from his vehicle and left lying in a Conoco gas station parking lot in Thornton this morning, police said.

 The man, who was not named, suffered a severe head injuries in the carjacking just after 7:30 a.m. at the station at 9201 Huron St.

He was listed in serious condtion at an area hospital, police said.

The thief left in the 1994 Ford Bronco, which is red with a white stripe down the side.

An suspected accomplice got into a navy blue Honda Accord and followed the stolen Bronco, police said.
