Aurora police stopped several cars this evening near the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Buckley Road as they searched for a suspect or suspects in a bank robbery.
FBI spokesman Dave Joly confirmed tonight that a person of interest had been detained but said the investgation was ongoing.
A Wells Fargo bank in the 15000 block of East Hampden Avenue reported an armed robbery late in the afternoon.
Fox 31 News reported that up to two dozen cars were stopped by police during the search. Photos by the television as well as smartphone photos posted on Twitter showed the intersection blocked by several police cars and heavily armed officers.
