Dominick Ramirez faces up to 12 years in prison for hurling a 14-pound rock off a second-story balcony, hitting and killing 60-year-old Larry Pino in August.
A Weld County jury found Ramirez, 46, guilty Thursday, after a four-day trial.
The two men had argued — after Pino accused Ramirez of sexually assaulting an underage girl — outside La Cafeteria restaurant in the Garden City area of Greeley on Aug. 13. Ramirez ran to his second-floor apartment above the restaurant and threw a rock at Pino’s head, which killed him.
Ramirez , according to the Greeley Tribune.
Several Pino family members have had violent confrontations .
Pino’s three sons soon arrived, and Lazarus Pino, 35, punched a deputy in the face before he was arrested.
During a later court hearing on Ramirez’s manslaughter charge, Teresa Pino, Lazarus’ sister, was arrested after a scuffle between the two families.
