Arvada’s Rick DeWitt and Carbondale’s Doug Rohrbaugh qualify for U.S. Senior Open

WESTMINSTER — Rick DeWitt of Arvada, a six-time Colorado Golf Association amateur player of the year before turning pro in 2006, and Doug Rohrbaugh of Carbondale qualified for the U.S. Senior Open for the first time Monday. DeWitt shot a 6-under-par 66 and was the medalist in sectional qualifying at The Heritage at Westmoor. Rohrbaugh shot a 67 for the second and final available national berth. The U.S. Senior Open will be played July 12-15 at Indianwood Golf Club in Lake Orion, Mich. The two alternates in Monday’s qualifying: Rick Cole of Eaton (70) and David Ogrin of New Braunfels, Texas (71). Denver Post wire services
