The driver of a Jeep who died in a one-vehicle crash in Wheat Ridge has been identified.
Garrett James Cunnington, 29, of Arvada, near Gladiola Street, according to a Wheat Ridge Police Department media release.
The jeep was westbound when Cunnington lost control, police said. The Jeep crossed over the eastbound lanes, rolled and ejected the driver before catching on fire.
Investigators suspect that “excessive speed and alcohol” contributed to the fatal crash.
A toxicology report as part of the investigation is pending.
