FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Victims of a wildfire in northern Colorado are asking Larimer County officials for tax relief and sandbags to cope with flooding after a wildfire last month destroyed nearly 260 houses.
About 250 people attended a meeting Monday to discuss their needs and concerns.
Residents say they are frustrated after the county failed to provide sandbags to protect their property from recent rains. They are also upset after county officials said their ability to provide property tax relief is limited.
The High Park Fire burned about 136 square miles last month and killed one person.
