Marquis Garrison, 30, was charged today with first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death after his baby daughter died from injuries officials say Garrison caused last month.
On June 25, Garrison allegedly shook the two-month-old and threw her on the ground when her fussing and crying frustrated him, according to news release from the Denver District Attorney’s office.
He was originally charged with child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, but those charges were dismissed once the baby died earlier this week.
Garrison is in custody at the Denver Detention Center where he is being held without bond. His next scheduled court date is July 17, 2012.
