A full closure of Interstate 25 as well as 15th Street will take place Saturday and Sunday for installation of a bridge girder.
Major delays are expected, and the Colorado Department of Transportation is advising alternate routes.
“We will be installing eight pieces of girder for the new westbound 15th Street bridge over I-25,” said Kevin Ryburn, CDOT project engineer. “We are hoping to complete the work in two nights, but if necessary, we will also have full closures on Monday night.”
On Saturday, one lane of northbound and southbound I-25 between I-70 and Speer Boulevard will be closed starting at 7 p.m. A second lane in each direction will close at 9 p.m., and all lanes of I-25 will close at 11 p.m., reopening by 9 a.m. Sunday.
In addition, 15th Street over I-25 will be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday.
