BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder leaders are considering a cap of 30,000 spectators on Flagstaff Mountain during the sixth stage of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge next month.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), city officials said Tuesday they are concerned about potential fire danger and problems trying to evacuate the mountain if there is an emergency. The race route calls for a dramatic finish at Sunrise Amphitheater on the mountain just west of Boulder.

The inaugural USA Pro Challenge attracted more than 1 million spectators statewide last year. Organizers hope to nearly double that this year.
