FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Authorities say a 13-year-old rural Larimer County girl is dead in an apparent farm accident.

The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office says initial reports were that Kelsey Helen Graves had been electrocuted by an irrigation system.

It says deputies were called about 8:15 p.m. Thursday to an area along U.S. 287.

The girl had been dropped off by her older brother to help clean a filter on the irrigation system. After receiving no response to a phone call, the brother returned to where he dropped her off and found her unconscious. He began CPR immediately, but the girl was pronounced deceased on scene at 8:44 p.m.

The death remains under investigation.
