A man who was hit in the head with a hammer during a home burglary has died of his injuries.
The victim, Terry O’Dell, died on Monday, according to a Colorado Springs Police Department media release.
An autopsy has been conducted and O’Dell’s death has been ruled a homicide as a result of “blunt force trauma,” police said.
On May 10, police were called to 3640 Agate Drive on a report of a burglary in progress. O’Dell was injured in a “disturbance” inside the home. A hammer was used in the assault.
Dennis O’Dell, the victim’s nephew, has been arrested as a suspect in the case.
