After Children’s Hospital Colorado officials announced Wednesday that they will forgive unpaid medical bills for Aurora shooting victims, two other local hospitals issued statements regarding adjustments of victims’ bills.

Parker Adventist Hospital said Thursday it will adjust patients’ bills and cover hospital costs not paid by insurance.

“We feel it is important to support the patients who have suffered as a result of this tragedy,” said Morre Dean, Parker Adventist Hospital CEO, in a news release. “We hope that this small gesture can help bring some comfort.”

Denver Health also released a statement saying they will continue to treat shooting victims regardless of their ability to pay. For patients who are unable to pay, Denver Health said they discount the hospital bills by 70 percent.

HealthOne, which operates the Medical Center of Aurora and Swedish Medical Center, said Wednesday it would limit or eliminate some charges based on circumstances.
