BRECKENRIDGE, Colo.—A former Silverthorne resident has been convicted in the death of his wife, whose body was found in the Blue River in 2010.
Dale Bruner was convicted Friday of second-degree murder, first-degree assault and tampering with evidence. He was accused of killing Stephanie Roller Bruner, weeks after she filed for divorce.
Prosecutors alleged an affair Roller Bruner had and the couple’s financial troubles led to a deadly fight.
Her body was found three days after Bruner reported his wife missing from their home. Authorities say she died of a combination of strangulation, blunt force trauma, hypothermia and drowning.
The couple’s three children are now living with Roller Bruner’s brother and his wife in California.
The Summit Daily News reports ( ) Bruner has moved to Fort Collins.
