BOULDER, Colo.—A man who was discharged from the Marines after faking his disappearance to avoid returning to his unit has been arrested in a new case in Boulder.
A police report says Lance Tyler Hering was taken into custody after his roommates reported he was being drunk and violent early Saturday. He was later released. Police returned to the residence a few hours later after Hering was accused of being aggressive toward his roommates again.
The Daily Camera reports ( ) the 27-year-old faces a charge of unlawful conduct on public land, a misdemeanor. He is free on $50 bond. He didn’t return an email seeking comment Monday.
The Iraq war veteran pleaded guilty in 2009 to false reporting after he and a friend staged his disappearance from a park in 2006.
