GREELEY- —In a county where nearly one out of 10 people are unemployed, Dave Villarrea has been an “unfortunate” member of the out-of-work minority for about a year and a half now, he said.
But the Fort Lupton resident, as well as hundreds of others, arrived at the 4-H Building at Island Grove Regional Park on Wednesday in hopes that the expansion of a local cheese plant can change that.
Villarrea found himself in a line about 50 people deep outside the 4-H Building, waiting to join the hundreds on the inside speaking with representatives of Leprino Foods.
The company is seeking to fill 160 positions.
