Fountain police are searching for a 31-year-old man who allegedly shot another man repeatedly late Friday night, authorities say.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are searching for the alleged shooter, Tabuari Bell, according to a new release. Bell is under investigation for a possible charge of first-degree assault.

Fountain police received a 911 call at 9:57 p.m. Friday night, reporting that a man had been shot in the 500 block of Harvest Moon Road in Fountain, according to the news release.

Police found the man who had multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses said that after the shooting the suspect ran east of the home.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 unit was used to track the suspect but was unable to find him.

Fountain police warn that Bell is “armed and dangerous.”

Bell, who also goes by the alias “Smoke,” has been arrested on drug-dealing charges in El Paso County, according to state criminal records.

In August of 2005 he was charged with drug dealing and pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of possession of more than a gram of a schedule-2 controlled substance. He was sentenced to five years in prison on Aug. 9, 2005, according to court records.
