DURANGO, Colo.—Organizers of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge estimate that more than one million people will line Colorado roads to watch some of the world’s top cyclists this week.

The nearly 700-mile race starts Monday at 10 a.m. in Durango. Cyclists will ride through Mancos and Dolores, over Lizard Head Pass and end in Telluride by around 4 p.m.

The Durango Herald (bit.ly/OQxr4X) reports that it’s the biggest event the city has every hosted. City manager Ron Le-Blanc is encouraging people to show up along the route, make a lot of noise and wear a costume, if possible.

The race ends Sunday in Denver.
