A suspect has been arrested in a hit-and-run collision in Lakewood involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist that left the rider with life-threatening injuries.
About 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, a car collided with the victim, a 58-year-old man who was riding a bike at the intersection of South Wadsworth Boulevard and West Ohio Avenue, according to Lakewood police.
The driver fled in the car, police said.
The collision shut down a portion of the intersection.
Catherine Marie Bean, 22, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault, driving under the influence, careless driving and failure to remain at the scene of an accident, according to police.
About 5:25 a.m., police received a call from Bean, who stated that she may have been in an accident, police said.
Investigators went to the 600 block of South Vance Street, where Bean was arrested.
“The vehicle believed to have been involved in the accident was also recovered at that location,” police said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was at St. Anthony Hospital, police said.
Bean was being held at Jefferson County Jail.
