COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Police say a suspicious package that prompted the shutdown of much of downtown Monument contained only an ice-cold bottle of Gatorade.
The Gazette ( ) reports a bomb squad team used X-ray devices to inspect a soft-sided lunchbox that was left near the Santa Fe Trail on Saturday afternoon. Officers were alerted to the package after a person was spotted dropping the lunchbox near the trail.
Several streets in the area were closed.
