Six residents of Fort Collins were displaced by a house fire Monday night.
The fire broke out about 7:20 p.m. at 1016 S. Taft Hill Road, according to a Poudre Fire Authority media release.
When firefighters arrived smoke was streaming from the attic and the main body of fire was burning in a front bedroom of the two-story home, the release said.
Firefighters entered the home to search for possible victims, but had to quickly back out because of extreme conditions. Crews cut a hole in the roof and broke windows, allowing the fire to vent, and reentered the home. The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes.
The residents were not home when the fire broke out. No firefighters were injured.
“Firefighters were able to limit fire damage mostly to one bedroom and the hallway,” the release said.
Other parts of the home to sustain heat and smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
