All westbound lands of Interstate 70 are closed near Genesee this morning after a motorcyclist collided with an elk.
The accident happened around 6:15 a.m. and no additional vehicles were involved, said Trooper Josh Lewis, a spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
Information about the motorcyclist’s injuries were not immediately available.
Crews are working to clear the accident. Traffic is stalled for nearly ¾ of a mile as crews work to clear the accident, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Drivers are being asked to use U.S. Highway 40 as an alternative route.
