DENVER—Skiers and snowboarders, rejoice!

A dusting of snow in the High Country on Monday morning prompted “likes” across Facebook and reports from several ski areas teasing the upcoming season.

The Denver Post ( ) reports snow acknowledgements were passed along by Loveland Ski Area, Arapahoe Basin, Winter Park Resort and Copper Mountain, among other ski areas and resorts.

National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Kalina says the snow fell at elevations above 11,000 feet, and some high peaks received as much as an inch. He adds it will be dry for the next several days, but “it’s a start, I guess.”
