Mayor Michael Hancock has appointed two new Denver County Court judges to fill vacancies created by the retirements of Judge Andrew Armatas and Judge Aileen Ortiz-White, who will leave the bench in January.
The appointees are Nicole A. Rodarte, a partner in the law firm of Casper & Rodarte LLC, and Gary M. Jackson, a partner in DiManna & Jackson LLP.
“Nicole and Gary are proven exceptional legal minds, and both have displayed a strong unwavering commitment to our community and to public service,” Hancock said in a news release. “I have the utmost confidence that Nicole and Gary will uphold the trust our residents place in our judicial system.”
Rodarte has been practicing law in Denver for 14 years and served for several years in the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office before entering private practice. She serves on the PTA of Swigert International School in Stapleton and has helped guide the policies of the Colorado Hispanic Bar and the Colorado Women’s bar.
Jackson has practiced law for 42 years in Denver and is a founder and past president of the Sam Cary Bar Association. A former member of the Denver district attorney’s office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado, he has previously served as vice president of the Denver Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.
