Traffic on I-25 north of Denver was backed up for miles Wednesday as crews worked to clean up a fuel spill near 104th Avenue.

All lanes of the highway reopened at about 1:25 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The accident happened at about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday and northbound traffic on the highway is backed up as far south as U.S. 36.

The spill reduced the highway to one through lane as crews cleaned up the mess, according to the highway department.

A semi-trailer heading north hit debris in the highway and an object kicked-up and punctured a fuel tank on the truck, Northglenn police said. There were no injuries.
