DENVER—The investment firm Janus is giving Denver Public Schools more than $2 million to give teachers high-tech tools for education.

Janus Foundation president Casey Cortese says the goal is to give teachers access to better technology to evaluate student progress.

According to the Denver Post ( ), the money will be used to train teachers and buy software and hardware for a pilot project at six schools.

The idea is to give teachers and students the ability to find out quickly what a child’s strengths and weaknesses are in a particular subject.
