Rollin Oliver, charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Denver police officer Celena Hollis, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Denver District Court.
A judge denied his attorneys’ requests to lower bond.
Oliver, 21, is accused of firing into a crowd of people at a City Park Jazz concert June 24, unintentionally striking Hollis. The police officer was rushing toward a fight in order to break it up when she was killed.
Oliver was being pursued by a number of gang members, some of whom were already beating up his friend, when he drew his weapon and fired, his attorneys have said.
