Gas prices are hitting wallet-wrenching highs this fall; but Oakwood Homes will knock $15 off the cost of your next tank, just for driving out to see a new model home that has volume and value you’d never come close to this year at the gas pump.

A $15 gas card, plus pizza for the family – that’s what Oakwood Homes has waiting today at Stillwater, just east of Hwy 85 at 120th Avenue in Henderson, where the builder picked up 44 sites in a single-family area that already has a trail and greenbelt within a block, and a 27-J school in walking distance without crossing a major street. Nine of ten parents who’ve written reviews about John W. Thimmig Elementary give it five stars (read them at GreatSchools.net); pretty much what buyers are giving Oakwood for these large ‘Colorado’ designs that already opened at Green Valley Ranch and Thompson River Ranch.

At Stillwater, Oakwood has these homes pre-sale priced from $88-per-square-foot (you can use $110 or $120-per-foot as a benchmark for average new homes in other areas) – prices that include a gourmet kitchen with a huge eat-in center island in granite tile; wood-laminate floors, and a spa-type master bath with sexy shower and rain heads.

Actually, Oakwood’s ‘Vail’ model (you can preview it today) comes in closer to $77-per-foot – over 4,000 square feet, plus a basement, with even more ‘smart space’ options upstairs and down – from $299,000.

“This is a chance to get the size and the bells-and-whistles you want at a price that’s attainable, particularly at low interest rates we’re seeing right now,” says Kristen White, Oakwood vice president.

She notes you can also order the Colorado Series’ ‘Telluride’ 2,588-foot ranch plan for Stillwater, from $269,000, with primary living on a single level, plus a ‘smart space’ included upstairs at no added cost, that can be guest bedrooms and/or for a library/media area.

All of these homes at Stillwater include Energy Star 3.0 design, verified by an independent rater, so thorough that Oakwood guarantees your energy bill for the first two years of ownership. Roger Shimono and Jeff Lopez (they already have four pre-sales) will show the new model and the sites (some up to 9,000 square feet); options for getting a basement finished as even more living space; and for a 3-car garage. They’ll also tell you about Oakwood’s nearby Belle Creek – closing-out now, but with a couple of quick move-ins left from $215,000. To take the preview tour of the Vail, take I-76 north, angle onto U.S. 85 three miles to 120th Avenue, turn right one long block to Moline, and right.
