DENVER—A Denver-area man is accused of failing to pay tax collections deducted from his employees’ paychecks to the IRS.
Lucilious J. Ward was advised in federal court Monday that he faces 19 counts of failure to pay over tax and two counts of false claims against the IRS.
Ward’s business is Global Access in Commerce City. Court documents allege that for years, Ward deducted and collected more than $2.5 million from his employees’ paychecks for federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes but didn’t properly pay the tax withholdings to the IRS.
Ward’s attorney didn’t immediately return an email seeking comment after business hours Monday.
