LAKEWOOD —  A reptile thief made off with a $1,200 lizard under his shirt, and it may come back to bite him.

According to Ron Beall, owner of Scales and Trails in Lakewood, someone walked into his pet store on Friday Oct. 26, and stole the store’s lizard. Beall has the surveillance video to prove it.

On the video, Beall says the suspect takes Grumpy right out of his tank, puts him under his shirt, and proceeds to pay for some other items at the register. An employee at the reptile store noticed Grumpy was missing about an hour later.
