When you see perform, it becomes clear why she draws comparison to some of music’s greatest voices. But such efforts to pin her down seem futile, because in the end, Potter’s voice is uniquely her own.

With enough power and presence to match those who came before her, Potter and her Nocturnals played a set that was both full-tilt and laid back at the on Saturday. The heartbreaking “Apologies” was a welcomed contrast to the more electrifying “Nothing But The Water” and “The Divide,” taking the Fillmore on a sonic journey that only GPN could guide.
