DENVER—Bond for a man suspected of shooting at officers making traffic stops in Denver and Westminster has been set at $225,000.
Larry Gomez appeared in a Denver courtroom Tuesday. He was captured Friday night after a car chase and crash. Police shot him as he ran from the crash scene.
Gomez faces charges in Denver of aggravated motor vehicle theft and attempted first-degree murder of a police officer.
Police say Gomez is suspected of firing at officers during a traffic stop in Denver on Nov. 6 and during a similar stop by Westminster police the next day, but Gomez has told KUSA-TV in Denver that he’s not the man who fired. He says he wasn’t pulled over those days and only ran from police Friday because he violated parole.
