A Greeley mother who helped her son after he shot a cousin has been sentenced to two years probation.
Mary Lou Jordan, 36, was sentenced Tuesday in Weld County District Court after pleading guilty to felony accessory to a crime, according to a Weld County District Attorney’s Office media release.
“Jordan knowingly harbored her fugitive son” Joseph Gonzales, after he shot and wounded a cousin in a Greeley alley, the release said.
Police believe the Feb. 28 shooting was gang-related. The victim was shot in the leg.
Gonzales pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder and was sentenced on Nov. 20 to 13 years in prison.
