AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police have arrested a man in a bizarre hit and run in which the driver hit a 14-year-old girl, then picked her up and drove her a few blocks to a convenience store.

Aurora police Thursday say 18-year-old William Anthony Elliott faces charges of second-degree kidnapping as well as other traffic offenses that include leaving the scene of an accident.

The girl told police that the man may have intended to drive her to a hospital after hitting her with his car. The girl suffered scrapes and. Police traced the vehicle through a license plate number jotted down by a witness.
