A video purporting to show a golden eagle swooping down to snag a baby sitting in a park has been spreading wildly since it was Tuesday.

As soon as it started to spread, however, skeptics began pointing out indications that it is faked. New Statesman calls it “” and describes several quirks it says are indicative of computer-generated animation, and points out that the associated YouTube account is only one day old and has posted just this one video.

Update: The video is definitely a fake. A , a Montreal design college, reveals that the video is indeed a hoax created as part of a digital design class. It was produced by three students who animated the eagle and baby digitally before inserting them into the film.
