DENVER—Denver police are defending their decision to chase suspects that ended with an officer being wounded, a suspect being killed and four arrests.
According to KMGH-TV ( ), Police Cmdr. Paul Pazen told worried residents Thursday that he made the right decision to continue a pursuit that resulted in shots being fired in their neighborhood.
Police Chief Robert White says the chase began after Adams County authorities alerted Denver police Wednesday to a pickup truck involved in a crime spree.
One suspect fired at a Denver officer, who was shot in the shoulder and is expected to survive. One suspect died at the scene, one was hospitalized in critical condition, one was bitten by a police dog, and a female sustained injuries believed to be from the crash.
