A water main break under a busy section of roadway in Denver will be fixed overnight on Monday.

Traffic on Colorado Boulevard at Leetsdale Drive was knotted up Friday as workers dug up the street and assessed the problem.

Water flow is rerouted and no customers are without service, so the work ditch will be patched and the pipe mend will be done overnight, reducing the impact on the Friday evening commute, according to Denver Water.

The ditch was and all street lanes reopened before 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Workers will return at 7 p.m. Monday to repair the broken 12-inch water main. The work should be completed by 6 a.m., ahead of the Tuesday morning rush.
