PALISADE, Colo.—A Colorado Springs police sergeant has been named the new police chief in Palisade.

Town Administrator Rich Sales says Tony Erickson is expected to take over his new post at the beginning of April.

The Daily Sentinel reports ( ) Erickson grew up in rural Michigan and currently runs cows on a ranch in Simla. His law-enforcement career spans more than 30 years with the Colorado Springs and Castle Rock departments.
