When Teva announced in November it would no longer sponsor the popular Mountain Games it supported for 11 years in Vail, the owner of the June adventure- sport contest, the Vail Valley Foundation, began searching for a new title sponsor.
On Saturday, the foundation announced GoPro as the title sponsor of the four-day event, which draws 50,000 spectators to Vail every June. The games are set for June 6-9 this year, with mountain biking, kayaking, stand-up paddling and running events planned for Vail Village.
Wearable and multimount camera company GoPro was founded in 2004 and has swiftly become the most prominent player in the ubiquitous point-of-view camera boom.
