Lead vocalist, Brittany Howard, held her own with the Grammys tribute to the late Levon Helms (check out Reverb’s coverage over ) alongside the unmistakable, Mavis Staples. The Alabama quartet went to L.A. with hopes of winning one of the three Grammys they were nominated for, but unfortunately, the rollicking act came up empty-handed. As a small consolation, Brittany Howard and company brought their gospel alongside the subtly funny, Christopher Weitz. Last night’s “SNL” performance brought a raw and honest energy in a refreshing manner with “Hold On” and a raucous take on “Always Alright.”

The good news is that Alabama Shakes will be making their way to Denver, March 9 to perform at the . The bad news is that the show is SOLD OUT. With the hullabaloo of the videos, would it be okay for the Alabama Shakes to do a Harlem Shake video?
