I’m not 100 percent sure that Seth MacFarlane will be invited back to host the Oscars. There was that entire “Boob” number for one thing. I’m sure it was one of those times where the idea looked REALLY good on paper, but didn’t translate well on stage. These four hour presentations are tedious and require a certain amount of charm and tact that Macfarlane was unable to fathom. It was a good try, alas, back to the Amy Poehler and Tina Fey petition. Oh well, even though they were few and far between, here are the best Oscars 2013 musical moments.
Fans of the James Bond enterprise were treated to not one but two takes from the storied Ian Fleming character by Shirley Bassey and by last night’s winner, Adele, for “Skyfall.” Adele wins everything she’s nominated for in the Grammys and Academy Awards. It’s safe to just skip the formalities and just present all awards that she’s nominated for in any given year.
The cast of “Les Miserables” reunited for one last huzzah displaying the wide range of Wolverine Hugh Jackman and Tugger Russel Crowe. Lastly, there was a Babs sighting. Barbra Streisand brought tears to many fans from her hit song, “The Way We Were,” from the 1973 classic with ex-CU alum, Robert Redford.
