ASPEN, Colo.—The federal Drug Enforcement Administration already has a tense relationship with Aspen authorities over what the feds believe is a lack of cooperation in drug investigations.
Now the DEA has a new gripe—the town’s lack of parking.
According to the Aspen Daily News ( ), agent Lori Butler testified during the cocaine-trafficking trial of former Aspen resident Montgomery Chitty on Tuesday that the town’s pedestrian atmosphere means that the feds sometimes can’t find a parking spot, making it difficult to tail suspects.
Aspen police said Wednesday they are not in charge of parking and they don’t give out parking permits.
